MEXICAN HERITAGE / PAPIER-MÂCHÉ

A Mexican tradition.
A craft you can make your own.

Discover the art of Calavera mask-making in a hands-on workshop inspired by the imagery and traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Led by Mexican artist Christian Borrego, this four-session intensive combines cultural inspiration with professional papier-mâché techniques.

You'll create a Calavera mask using a cast of your own face, learning how to build a strong foundation, sculpt expressive features, and bring your mask to life through painting and finishing.

Whether you're a performer, theatre artist, festival enthusiast, visual artist, or simply curious about learning something new, this workshop is open to you.

No previous experience is necessary.

Four sessions.
One Calavera of your own.

7.5 hours of instruction across four sessions. All times are Pacific Time.

WHAT YOU'LL TAKE HOME

The Calavera mask you create is yours to keep.

And what you learn doesn't end with your first mask. You'll take home your reusable face cast and the knowledge to continue creating. The same techniques can be applied to other masks.

This doesn't have to be the only mask you make. It could be the beginning of a whole collection of masks you imagine, design, and create yourself.
